The Porch (closed)
We all have a happy place. Or happy places if we're lucky. The Porch is one of mine.
Located at the intersection of Duval & Caroline - The Porch is a perfect little oasis to escape the craziness of Key West's main drag (pun only partially intended.) If you like beer or wine - this is the place. All kinds of choices, great bartenders and a good mix of locals and tourists. If you sit on the porch - you'll hear the chaos around you but from a (somewhat) safe distance - with the trees around to quiet the noise. Inside, the small bar is (beer) geek heaven. Great choices from Florida and beyond, decor that hits the sweet spot for me - Star Wars, Abominable Snowman and, yeah, more beer. Even an old Pac Man/Galaga video game.
If I had a complaint it is from when they switched from their chalkboard draft list to a digital screen - doesn't seem to fit - but hell, if it makes their life easier; who am I to bitch?
Sad! As of October 2018 the Porch is no more. Landlord/lease dispute. A great place has gone.
TIP! Come after 5 PM to check out their sister bar - the Other Side. Adds in the cocktail element alongside the beer & wine. It right across the hallway on the...other side.
