Where are we?
So, in recent years we've stayed more an more on Stock Island - renting condos rather than downtown hotels. Stock Island offered better prices, nice places (if you know where to look) and a bit more personality - all within striking distance of downtown Key West.
But Stock Island is going big time. Not sure what I think of that. One of several resort opening in the past year or 2 - the Perry Hotel is nice. Restaurant seems good (albeit with hotel prices) and the folks at the bar couldn't be nicer. Great Bloody Mary on a Sunday afternoon and a decent beer selection.
But I kind of miss when there were just docks here. Maybe the Shrimp Road food truck and bocce court.
But, give it a try. What do you got to lose?
I suppose the hotel/places to stay part of this blog will be the hardest. Renting condos (and I'm not telling you which condo or condos - that's my secret) have put me out of touch with the hotel scene. However if any hotels want to give me and my wife a room for a night visit - we'll be glad to do a complete review - hint. *cough* hint.
